What Happened to You? A Changed Life

What Happened to You? The effect of marketplace ministry on a life.

My experience with marketplace ministry has shaped my entire life.  It has been a tool that has carved and sculpted a new life.  A life that has been supernatural.  It is because of my experience with marketplace ministry that I felt a strong need to write down many of the lessons that God has taught me, this was the reason for Thrive Teaching and Supernatural Business.

I believe that everyone can Thrive in their work and faith, and that they are one in the same thing; each serving the other.  My life has been supercharged in a few different areas:

Training

Training defined: is the process “to make fit, qualified, or proficient.”  The Word of God itself is a training guide for how to live a Godly life.   Marketplace ministry has taught me how to apply biblical principles to my everyday lifeIt has also shown me the value of training others in this lifeThe bible often refers to this process as discipleshipEvery meeting you host provides this opportunity to train, qualify, and make proficient.  This might give you a whole new perspective on staff meetings each week. Training is a springboard for influence.

"Go out and train everyone you meet, far and near, in this way of life, marking them by baptism in the threefold name: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Then instruct them in the practice of all I have commanded you. I’ll be with you as you do this, day after day after day, right up to the end of the age.”

Character

I have grown in the areas of integrity, service, humility, courage and perseveranceMy character has been strengthened by building on Godly foundations.  Character underpins every area of your life and you quickly start to see positive results in your relationships, your work and in your homeGood character allows you to Thrive in a guilt and shame free environment and it is exhilaratingIt is not always easy but it is always blessed.  I cannot say that I have passed every character test, I have made a good share of mistakes, however my commitment towards the direction of Godliness has been consistent.

Purpose

To walk in purpose has allowed me to be successful in the endeavors I have pursued.  This has afforded Janet and I the privilege of being able to launch, resource and bless churches, ministries and individuals. The reward of leading a company based on God’s principles has been success in the will of God. Here are some thoughts from my book in line with the purpose God has for all of us:

“All the changes to our character and inner lives – are designed for one purpose: to change the atmosphere of our lives and business in a way that shows God’s goodness and draws people to Him… The change – and the benefits – will start with you, but they are not meant to end with you. The transformation isn’t just for your benefit; it is so that you can, in turn, be helpful to others. That’s the natural way God works.”
